Sports is a life-long passion - and the Howe Foundation wants to give everyone the opportunity to experience that passion. The Howe Foundation has two specific goals:
1. KIDS FIRST: Helping kids get involved in sports - from their first skates or first soccer ball, to the international competitions, to the best schools - whether they make it to the pros or not. This is Mr Hockey(R), Gordie Howe's, legacy.
2. WOMEN IN THE BUSINESS OF SPORTS: Helping women rise through the ranks of the sports business - through education, experiences and networks. This is Mrs. Hockey(R), Colleen Howe's, Legacy.
Because once they experience sports and the business of sports through the Howe Foundation, they'll carry the lessons throughout their life and pass it on to the next generation.
"The Howe Foundation was created by my mother and father with the long term goal of being able to give back and help out those who could use a helping hand for years to come. Both of my parents had help along the way during their youth that helped them to advance in life. They wanted to be able to do the same for others by making a difference in someone's life, just as someone had done for them years ago. My goal is to continue that mission on their behalf. I cannot think of a better way to honor their memories and their legacy."
"The Howe Foundation was started by my Mother and Father and has been a part of our family for as long as I remember. As a family we will try to keep the Howe Foundation active to help keep the great game of hockey alive and well for the next generation."
"I am honored to be a part of the Howe Foundation. Both of my parents lived to enrich the lives of others and the Howe foundation accomplishes this by making it possible for more kids to experience the sport of youth hockey. This empowers the next generation, and builds bridges between kids, communities, and nations."
